They toll church bells, sing religious songs, burn incense , followed by a marching band. The devotees pray to get some miracles to help them. A few special devotees are chosen to carry the image, It is seats on a wooden platform, adorned with silver, gold and flowers. Some vendors sell on the street Peruvian foods, and desserts, specially soft

Hi Celeste,
What is the food in the last picture? It looks absolutely delicious! Do you have a recipe for it?
Hi Judi,
It is a delicious dessert. It is a
soft nougat candy (turron).
Actually I dont know, how to cook
it. Because I always get it from
the store.(it has already done).
I promise you. when I get it, I
will share with you.
Thanks, Celeste. My ancestry is Italian, and we have a similar nougat called "torrone". It is also made with sugar, honey, eggs and nuts (usually pistachios). I remember that Santa Claus always put a piece of torrone in my stocking.
